A leading Current Transformer manufacturer in India, this organization specializes in the design and production of high-precision current transformers that generate alternating current in their secondary winding. With a well-established manufacturing facility at Waluj MIDC and a strong operational culture built around engineering excellence, quality compliance, and workforce development, the company serves a wide clientele across power, utilities, and industrial sectors. The organization is now strengthening its production leadership to drive the next phase of manufacturing growth, efficiency, and operational maturity.

Position Overview:

The Production Head will carry full responsibility for planning, executing, and continuously improving all manufacturing operations at the plant level. This is a senior leadership role that demands both deep technical expertise in electrical and transformer manufacturing and strong people management capabilities. The incumbent will lead production teams and shift supervisors, drive adherence to IEC and IS quality standards, implement lean and process improvement initiatives, and ensure all production targets are met on time — directly influencing the organization’s output capacity, product quality, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Diploma / BE in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution — mandatory
• 6–12 years of progressive experience in production management within the electrical manufacturing or transformer industry
• Demonstrated experience in leading production teams, managing shift operations, and owning plant-level output targets
• Knowledge of IEC, IS, and applicable electrical industry standards in a manufacturing context is essential

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Execution

• Manage and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules aligned with customer requirements and dispatch commitments
• Ensure timely achievement of production targets through effective planning, resource allocation, and proactive bottleneck resolution
• Optimize utilization of manpower, machines, and materials to maximize production efficiency and minimize idle time

2. Technical & Electrical Expertise

• Apply strong working knowledge of electrical components, CT/PT transformers, LV/HV systems, wiring configurations, and testing procedures to guide and support the production team
• Lead the team in identifying and resolving technical and electrical production issues with speed and accuracy to minimize downtime
• Collaborate closely with design, quality assurance, and testing teams to drive technical improvements and support product development initiatives

3. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all production activities conform strictly to IEC, IS, and organizational quality standards at every stage of manufacturing
• Implement structured quality checks, conduct root-cause analysis for production defects, and drive effective corrective and preventive actions
• Maintain full compliance with electrical safety norms, regulatory requirements, and internal quality management procedures across the plant

4. Team Leadership & Manpower Management

• Lead, train, and supervise the production team including shift supervisors, technicians, operators, and helpers to build a high-performing, accountable workforce
• Manage workforce allocation, attendance, shift planning, and shop-floor discipline with fairness and consistency
• Foster a culture of teamwork, safety awareness, and continuous productivity improvement across all production departments

5. Process Improvement

• Drive lean manufacturing, 5S, and cost-reduction initiatives across the production floor to improve operational efficiency and reduce wastage
• Identify and eliminate sources of rework, rejection, and process inefficiency through structured improvement programs
• Monitor machinery health proactively, coordinate preventive maintenance schedules, and ensure equipment availability for uninterrupted production

6. Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate effectively with Purchase, Store, Quality, Planning, and Dispatch teams to ensure seamless material flow and on-time order execution
• Review and analyse daily production reports, rejection rates, and downtime data to identify performance gaps and initiate corrective measures
• Present production performance summaries, KPI dashboards, and improvement plans to Management and Directors in periodic review meetings

Skills Required:

• Strong working knowledge of electrical drawings, testing procedures, and end-to-end transformer manufacturing processes applicable to CT/PT and LV/HV systems
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage large production teams, make sound operational decisions, and drive a problem-solving culture on the shop floor
• Good communication, production planning, and cross-functional coordination skills to manage complex manufacturing workflows effectively
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret production data, identify trends, and implement data-driven improvements
• Practical understanding of lean manufacturing principles, 5S methodology, and continuous improvement frameworks in a production environment

Special Requirements:

• Strong hands-on knowledge of electrical components, CT/PT transformers, LV/HV systems, wiring, and testing procedures is mandatory — candidates without this technical foundation will not be considered
• Proven ability to ensure production compliance with IEC, IS, and company quality standards is a critical selection criterion
• Prior experience as a Production Head, Senior Production Engineer, or equivalent role in the electrical or transformer manufacturing industry will be strongly preferred
• Must be willing to work full-time from the Waluj MIDC, Chh. Sambhajinagar plant location and actively engage with shop-floor operations on a daily basis
