Position Overview:

The Production Head will serve as the key leader responsible for overseeing end-to-end manufacturing operations at the Waluj MIDC facility. This role demands a technically sound professional with deep expertise in transformer manufacturing, electrical systems, and production management. The incumbent will be expected to drive production efficiency, ensure regulatory and quality compliance, lead a skilled shop-floor workforce, and collaborate cross-functionally to meet organizational output and quality goals. This is a critical leadership role with direct impact on the company’s delivery commitments and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or B.E. in Electrical Engineering (mandatory)
• Minimum 4 years and up to 8 years of hands-on experience in transformer or electrical equipment manufacturing
• Demonstrated background in managing shop-floor operations in an industrial or MIDC manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of IEC and IS standards applicable to current transformers and electrical equipment
• Exposure to lean manufacturing, 5S practices, and process improvement methodologies

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Execution

• Manage and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules aligned with customer and dispatch requirements
• Ensure timely achievement of production targets while optimizing the utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials
• Monitor production flow and proactively resolve bottlenecks to maintain operational continuity

Technical & Electrical Expertise

• Apply strong technical knowledge of CT/PT Transformers, LV/HV systems, electrical components, wiring, and testing procedures to guide shop-floor operations
• Lead the technical team in diagnosing and resolving production-related electrical and mechanical issues
• Collaborate closely with Design, QA, and Testing teams to drive continuous technical improvements

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all production activities strictly adhere to IEC, IS, and internal quality standards
• Implement robust quality checks, conduct root-cause analyses, and execute timely corrective actions
• Uphold full compliance with electrical industry safety norms and regulatory requirements across the production floor

Team Leadership & Manpower Management

• Lead, train, and supervise production team members, shift supervisors, and shop-floor operators
• Manage workforce allocation, attendance, and daily shop-floor discipline effectively
• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and high productivity

Process Improvement

• Drive lean manufacturing initiatives, 5S implementation, and cost-reduction programs across the production function
• Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, minimize material wastage, and reduce rework incidents
• Monitor machinery health parameters and coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules with the maintenance team

Coordination & Reporting

• Ensure seamless coordination with Purchase, Store, Quality, Planning, and Dispatch departments to maintain uninterrupted production flow
• Review and analyze daily production reports, rejection rates, downtime data, and other performance metrics
• Present production performance summaries and improvement action plans directly to Senior Management / Director

Skills Required:

• In-depth knowledge of electrical drawings, transformer testing procedures, and CT/PT manufacturing processes
• Proven leadership ability with strong decision-making and problem-solving orientation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional coordination and team management
• Solid production planning and shop-floor management capabilities
• Proficiency in monitoring and reporting production KPIs, rejection rates, and operational metrics

Special Requirements:

• Thorough knowledge of electrical components, CT/PT Transformers, LV/HV systems, wiring configurations, and testing procedures is mandatory
• Candidates must possess working experience in ensuring production compliance with IEC and IS quality standards
• Prior experience in transformer or switchgear manufacturing units will be given strong preference
• Willingness to work on-site at Waluj MIDC, Chh. Sambhajinagar is required
