Position Overview
The Visual Merchandiser will play a pivotal role in shaping the in-store customer experience by creating compelling product displays that reflect the brand’s identity and drive sales performance. This role demands a keen aesthetic sensibility, a solid understanding of retail consumer behavior, and the ability to translate brand guidelines into visually impactful store environments. The incumbent will work closely with the sales team to ensure that every display — from window frontage to floor fixtures — communicates the brand story effectively and influences purchase decisions.
Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline; a background in Fashion Design, Retail Management, or Visual Arts is preferred
- Formal training or certification in Visual Merchandising or related fields will be an added advantage
- Proficiency in understanding planograms, brand guidelines, and display layouts
- Working knowledge of current fashion trends, seasonal retail cycles, and consumer preferences
Key Responsibilities
- Design, set up, and maintain visually engaging in-store displays and product presentations that align with brand standards
- Arrange and rotate merchandise strategically to maximize product visibility, footfall engagement, and conversion
- Collaborate closely with the sales team to spotlight key products, new arrivals, and ongoing promotions through effective display planning
- Uphold store aesthetics, cleanliness, and visual consistency across all sections of the store at all times
- Monitor display stock levels proactively and coordinate timely replenishment to avoid gaps in presentation
- Ensure all visual merchandising elements strictly adhere to brand guidelines, seasonal directives, and promotional mandates
- Analyze customer buying patterns, footfall data, and product performance to continuously optimize product placement and display effectiveness
- Plan and execute seasonal displays, festive setups, promotional installations, and window displays in alignment with the retail calendar
- Ensure mannequins, fixtures, props, and display elements reflect current fashion trends, active promotions, and brand identity at all times
Skills Required
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in visual merchandising within a retail or fashion environment
- Strong sense of fashion styling, aesthetic composition, and design sensibility
- Proficient in display planning, space utilization, and floor layout optimization
- High level of creativity with the ability to conceptualize and execute visually appealing product stories
- Sound understanding of product presentation techniques that influence customer behavior and support sales goals
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for seamless coordination with sales, operations, and brand teams
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to maintain consistent visual standards across the store
Special Requirements
- Hands-on experience with mannequin styling, fixture arrangement, and prop-based display setups reflecting current trends and active promotions
- Prior experience planning and executing window displays, seasonal themes, and campaign-specific visual setups
- Ability to adapt display strategies quickly in response to inventory changes, new arrivals, or promotional shifts
- Willingness to work during peak retail periods, sale seasons, and festive windows as required
