Position Overview:
The Site Quality Supervisor will safeguard material and workmanship quality across the site, ensuring every stage of construction is inspected, tested, and documented against approved standards before sign-off.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering preferred but optional; relevant site quality experience is acceptable
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming materials (steel, cement, aggregates, fasteners, etc.) for compliance and reject non-conforming material
- Maintain quality records — pour cards, checklists, inspection reports, NCRs — with photographic documentation
- Conduct and log routine quality tests (concrete cubes, slump, weld/bolt checks, levels, dimensions) and maintain test registers
- Verify workmanship at each stage against approved drawings/specs, ensuring rework is completed and re-checked before sign-off
- Coordinate with consultants to obtain quality approvals and maintain clear approval records
- Support third-party/client inspections and maintain documentation for audits and handover
- Work with the site engineer/subcontractors to correct quality issues and prevent recurrence
- Promote a quality-first, safety-conscious culture on site
Skills Required:
- Material Inspection & Compliance Checking — Verifying incoming steel, cement, aggregates, and fasteners against standards; rejecting non-conforming material
- Quality Testing — Conducting and recording concrete cube tests, slump tests, weld/bolt checks, levels, and dimensions
- Documentation & Record-Keeping — Maintaining pour cards, checklists, NCRs, and photographic records, especially for hidden work (reinforcement, excavation/filling)
- Workmanship Verification — Checking work against approved drawings/specs and ensuring rework is corrected and re-checked before sign-off
- Knowledge of Construction Standards — Sound understanding of materials, testing procedures, and quality codes
- Coordination with Consultants & Site Teams — Working with consultants for approvals and with site engineers/subcontractors to resolve quality issues
- Attention to Detail & Firmness — Holding the line on quality standards professionally, without compromise
Special Requirements:
- Hands-on with measuring and testing instruments and quality documentation tools
- Full-time based at the Hosur site, comfortable in a fast-paced field environment
- Prior experience in industrial construction is essential
