Company Profile:

A leading current transformer manufacturer in India, specializing in the design and production of devices that generate alternating current in their secondary winding. The organization is known for engineering precision, reliable manufacturing processes, and consistent quality standards within the electrical equipment industry.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Purchase Officer to manage end-to-end procurement operations, ensuring uninterrupted material availability for production while optimizing cost, quality, and delivery timelines. The role requires strong vendor management capability, sound planning skills, and close coordination with cross-functional teams to support smooth manufacturing operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in procurement/purchase functions, preferably in manufacturing

Key Responsibilities:

• Source raw materials and create/track Purchase Orders (POs) in line with production requirements
• Prepare RFQs (Request for Quotations) and conduct detailed quotation comparisons
• Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to achieve cost optimization
• Conduct Material Requirement Planning (MRP) to align procurement with production schedules
• Monitor inventory/stock levels to prevent stock-outs or excess inventory
• Follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery of materials
• Identify, onboard, and develop new suppliers to strengthen the vendor base
• Evaluate vendor performance on quality, delivery, and reliability parameters
• Liaise with Production, Stores, and Quality teams to ensure material availability and specification compliance
• Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure timely order execution and tracking

Skills Required:

• Demonstrated experience in raw material sourcing, PO creation, and RFQ preparation
• Strong analytical skills for MRP, inventory control, and quotation comparison
• Effective negotiation skills with a focus on cost-saving without compromising quality or delivery
• Proven vendor management experience, including onboarding and performance evaluation
• Clear communication and coordination skills for cross-functional and vendor interactions
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP tools (SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables)
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and order specifications

Special Requirements:

• Strong working knowledge of purchase, procurement, vendor onboarding, and timely order execution
• Candidates from Electrical or Auto-components industry background highly preferred
• Hands-on experience with Tally and ERP software is mandatory
