A leading manufacturer of current and power transformers, the company specializes in designing and producing high-precision electrical components for the power, utility, and industrial sectors. Backed by strong engineering expertise and a trusted market presence, the organization continues to expand its footprint and is focused on driving sustained business growth.

Position Overview:

The organization is seeking an experienced Quality Head to take complete ownership of the Quality function and drive a culture of zero-defect, “Right First Time” manufacturing. This role is responsible for building and strengthening the Quality Management System, leading root-cause and corrective action processes, managing customer and supplier quality relationships, and ensuring consistent compliance with ISO and customer-specific standards. The incumbent will work closely with cross-functional teams to reduce rejections, rework, and scrap while embedding continuous improvement across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
  • 7–15 years of experience in Quality Management within an electrical or industrial manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the overall Quality Management System, establishing quality objectives, standards, procedures, and inspection criteria in line with ISO and customer-specific requirements.
  • Monitor and continuously improve Incoming, In-Process, and Final Inspection systems; conduct regular process and product audits, and ensure calibration control of measuring and testing instruments.
  • Analyze customer complaints, internal rejections, and defects; lead RCA, CAPA, and 8D processes to drive corrective and preventive actions and reduce rejection, rework, and scrap.
  • Coordinate customer, supplier, system, and certification audits, while monitoring and developing supplier quality performance.
  • Collaborate with Production, PPC, Purchase, Stores, Maintenance, and Engineering on quality improvement initiatives, leading continuous improvement projects to build a zero-defect culture.

Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems and core quality tools including 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone (Ishikawa) Analysis, Pareto Analysis, SPC, FMEA, MSA, and CAPA.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective, sustainable solutions.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities to mentor and drive performance within the quality team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong cross-functional coordination abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of customer and supplier quality management to ensure end-to-end product quality.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MIS reporting for tracking KPIs and presenting data to management.
  • Skilled in planning and managing internal/external audits and effectively handling customer escalations and complaints.

Special Requirements:

  • Must be capable of taking complete end-to-end ownership of the Quality function, ensuring product/process quality, customer satisfaction, compliance, and timely closure of quality issues independently.
  • Proven hands-on experience with 8D, RCA, CAPA, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, SPC, FMEA, and MSA, with a track record of driving permanent corrective actions.
  • Experience independently handling customer, supplier, internal, and certification audits, along with complaint resolution and effective closure of observations.
  • Ability to lead the Quality team, establish measurable quality KPIs, identify recurring issues, and drive continuous improvement across production and processes.
