The organization operates in alignment with ISO, IS, and IEC quality standards, and is committed to maintaining product excellence through structured inspection systems, continuous improvement practices, and a technically skilled quality workforce.
Position Overview:
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for executing structured quality assurance activities across incoming, in-process, and final inspection stages of CT/PT transformer manufacturing. This is a technically hands-on role requiring strong working knowledge of electrical testing procedures, IS/IEC standards, and quality documentation practices. The incumbent will play a key role in reducing rejection and rework, supporting customer and internal audits, and ensuring all products meet defined quality and safety parameters before dispatch — contributing directly to the organization’s product reliability and customer satisfaction objectives.
Qualifications:
- Diploma / BE in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution — mandatory
- 2–6 years of hands-on experience in quality control or quality assurance within the electrical manufacturing or transformer industry
- Working knowledge of IS/IEC standards applicable to current transformers or electrical equipment is essential
- Familiarity with quality documentation including inspection reports, NCRs, CAPA records, and test certificates aligned with ISO requirements
Key Responsibilities:
1. Incoming, In-Process & Final Inspection
- Inspect incoming raw materials, electrical components, and sub-assemblies against defined specifications and acceptance criteria before release to production
- Conduct structured in-process quality checks during assembly, winding, fitting, and testing stages to detect deviations and prevent downstream defects
- Perform comprehensive final inspection of CT/PT transformers and other electrical products to confirm full conformance with customer specifications and applicable standards prior to dispatch
2. Testing & Technical Knowledge
- Execute electrical testing procedures including Ratio Test, Polarity Test, IR Test, Magnetization Test, Burden Test, and other applicable tests as per product requirements
- Operate testing instruments and equipment competently, and maintain accurate calibration records to ensure measurement integrity
- Identify technical deviations during testing, document findings clearly, and coordinate with the Production and Design teams for timely corrective action
3. Documentation & Quality Records
- Prepare and maintain accurate inspection reports, test reports, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and CAPA documentation for all quality events
- Maintain quality control records and management system documents in compliance with ISO, IEC, and IS standards
- Ensure all documentation is audit-ready and properly organized to support customer audits, third-party inspections, and internal audit requirements
4. Quality Control & Compliance
- Implement systematic quality checks across production stages to actively reduce rejection rates, rework, and customer complaints
- Ensure consistent adherence to company quality standards, electrical safety norms, and regulatory compliance requirements on the shop floor
- Support and participate in 5S, Lean, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality systems and operational efficiency
5. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with suppliers, the production team, and the testing department to address quality concerns, material non-conformances, and process deviations
- Support customer inspections and third-party quality inspections by providing relevant documentation, test records, and inspection assistance
- Communicate quality issues, trends, and improvement recommendations clearly to the Quality Head and management for informed decision-making
Skills Required:
- Strong analytical skills and sharp attention to detail, enabling accurate identification of product non-conformances and quality deviations across inspection stages
- Good communication and report-writing skills to document inspection findings clearly and coordinate effectively with production, design, and supplier teams
- Sound working knowledge of electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and component specifications relevant to CT/PT transformer manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with electrical testing equipment and a thorough understanding of testing procedures and IS/IEC standards applicable to transformers
- Ability to maintain structured, audit-ready quality records and support documentation-driven quality management systems
Special Requirements:
- Good knowledge of electrical drawings, testing procedures, and IS/IEC standards applicable to transformers is mandatory — candidates without this technical background will not be considered
- Practical experience with electrical testing methods including Ratio, Polarity, IR, Magnetization, and Burden tests will be a critical selection criterion
- Prior experience in CT/PT transformer or electrical equipment manufacturing quality environments will be strongly preferred
- Must be comfortable working in a structured shop-floor quality role with defined inspection responsibilities and audit support requirements
- Willingness to work full-time from the Waluj MIDC, Chh. Sambhajinagar plant location is required
