Position Overview:
The Sales Executive / Field Officer will serve as the primary revenue-generating representative for the company across assigned geographies. This is a high-ownership, field-intensive role requiring the incumbent to identify new business opportunities, build lasting client relationships, manage the full enquiry-to-order cycle, and provide actionable market intelligence to the leadership team. The role directly contributes to topline growth and market expansion for the organization’s transformer product portfolio.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) from a recognized institution
- Sound academic and applied understanding of power systems and electrical equipment
- Formal training or certifications in sales, business development, or technical marketing will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities:
Market Development & Lead Generation
- Identify and pursue new potential clients including industrial customers, EPC contractors, electrical consultants, and government utilities
- Conduct regular field visits to industrial zones, substation project sites, and contractor offices to explore and develop business opportunities
- Represent the organization at trade exhibitions, industry events, and technical seminars to enhance brand visibility and lead generation
Customer Interaction & Relationship Building
- Engage clients through structured meetings to present the company profile, product range, and technical differentiators
- Understand customer specifications and project requirements; coordinate with internal design and costing teams to deliver accurate, competitive quotations
- Cultivate long-term client relationships to generate repeat business, referrals, and sustained account growth
Enquiry Handling & Order Conversion
- Collect, document, and submit client enquiries and project tenders to the head office in a timely manner
- Follow up diligently on submitted quotations, negotiate commercial terms within approved limits, and support the order closure process
- Gather and communicate competitor intelligence and market feedback to the management team for strategic decision-making
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate daily visit reports covering clients met, enquiries collected, and order pipeline status
- Submit structured weekly and monthly performance reports to the reporting manager as per defined formats
Skills Required:
- Technical Product Knowledge — Demonstrated understanding of power and distribution transformers, including specifications, ratings, applications, and applicable industry standards (IS, IEC), enabling technically credible conversations with engineering and procurement stakeholders
- Sales & Negotiation Skills — Proven ability to identify customer needs, develop techno-commercial proposals, negotiate pricing and terms effectively, and bring deals to successful closure
- Customer Relationship Management — Established capability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with utility clients, EPC contractors, industrial buyers, and electrical consultants
- Market Development & Lead Generation — Hands-on experience in field-based business development, territory mapping, and expanding the customer base through structured outreach and follow-up
- Communication & Reporting Skills — Effective verbal and written communication for client-facing presentations, internal coordination, follow-up correspondence, and accurate reporting of sales activities and market intelligence
Special Requirements:
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly for client visits across assigned territories
- Prior experience in the power transformer manufacturing industry is mandatory
- Candidate must currently be residing in Mumbai or willing to operate from Mumbai as the base location for field coverage
