Position Overview:
The Bodyshop Technician will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and restoring accident-damaged vehicles to OEM standards. This role requires hands-on expertise in denting, panel beating, panel replacement, and structural repair, ensuring every vehicle meets the highest standards of fit, finish, and safety before handover to the paint and quality-control stage. The technician will play a key role in maintaining customer satisfaction through timely, accurate, and rework-free repairs.
Qualifications:
- ITI / Diploma in Automobile, Motor Vehicle, Mechanical, or related trade preferred
- 4–7 years of hands-on experience in automotive body repair, preferably within an authorized dealership bodyshop
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect accident-damaged vehicles to accurately identify visible and hidden body damage, supporting the Estimator with correct repair planning
- Carry out dent repair, panel beating, and structural straightening using proper bodyshop tools and techniques to restore the vehicle’s original shape and strength
- Remove, refit, or replace damaged panels and components (doors, bumpers, bonnet, fenders, etc.) strictly following OEM repair procedures
- Ensure precise panel alignment and body-gap fitment, followed by a final inspection to confirm OEM-standard fit and finish before handover to paint/QC
- Complete repairs within the estimated repair time while minimizing rework, repeat repairs, and customer complaints
Skills Required:
- Strong understanding of vehicle body construction and accident repair principles to correctly assess and plan repairs
- Hands-on proficiency in denting, panel beating, panel replacement, body/chassis alignment, and structural repair work
- Skilled in panel gap adjustment, fitment, bumper/trim replacement, and proper dismantling and refitting of body components
- Ability to judge whether a panel is repairable or needs replacement, and to correctly interpret OEM repair instructions
- Knowledge of safe repair practices for vehicles with airbags, sensors, ADAS, and electronic systems, along with strong attention to detail and finishing quality
Special Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a Panel Beater/Body Repair Technician in a reputed authorized dealership bodyshop
- Proven experience working with OEM-standard repair procedures and technical documentation
- Sound knowledge of safe repair practices for modern vehicles equipped with airbags, sensors, and ADAS systems
- Willingness to work at Hadapsar or Wakad location as assigned
